G8 Summit in Heiligendamm PR 18

BAO Kavala will be the authority giving the permission to hold meetings (Versammlungsbehörde) during the G8 Summit

With the effect from 27thJanuary 2007 the government of the Land entrusted the directorate Rostock with the tasks of being the authority giving the permission to hold meetings.

With immediate effect BAO Kavala that is responsible for the planning, preparation and command and control of the operation during the world economic summit 2007 in Heiligendamm will be in charge of all meetings which shall be held in the Hanseatic city of Rostock and the districts of Bad Doberan and Güstrow in the time between 25th May and 15th June 2007.

The government of the Land and the Ministry of Interior Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with the consent of the three regional administrative bodies have regulated this responsibility in the “Landesverordnung über die zuständigen Behörden nach dem Versammlungsgesetz” (Land regulation on competent authorities according to the Law of Public Meetings and Processions) which has been amended concerning this matter.

With immediate effect you can apply for a meeting in the Hanseatic city of Rostock or the districts of either Bad Doberan or Güstrow by giving the police notice in writing. Use the Internet presence of the State Police www.polizei.mvnet.de. By means of a form which can be found under menu item G8 2007 each citizen has got the possibility to apply for meetings and other events connected with the G8 Summit.
