it turned out that some anti-G8 activists, including myself, contracted lyme disease after being bitten by ticks on their way to blockades around heiligendamm and rostock.if you had a tick it's important to get your blood checked for borreliose anti-bodies. The area around rostock is a high-risk area for ticks that carry the Borreliose bacteria (causing Lyme Disease). ironically the amount of ticks carrying the bacteria has increased recently, possibly/probably through climate change. if dealt with early there is a good, but not 100% chance to get rid of it. if it goes untreated Lyme Disease's longterm consequences include musculoskeletal, arthritic, neurologic, psychiatric and cardiac problems and damages. forward or tell anyone who might have caught a tick out there, i.e people who were crawling through fields, forests, etc... link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyme_disease drone
Collective Radar G8 2007: Help Build the Action Map! Resistance to the G8 in and around Heiligendamm was as massive as it was multiple and diverse. To show this, the facilities to build a collective action map depicting all of the actions that happened, are being put together. The map will have icons that indicate where what kind of action took place. The individual icons will be linked to texts, films or pictures about the actions. You will also be able to view a brief summary while scrolling with your mouse. [more...] Plage Sauvage 2.0 : relax, revolution just begun!

In order to assess the conditions of the detentions and to start a complaint, we ask you to fill out the form and to send it back by fax or e-mail. [PDF-Form...] Legal Team Informations 10 of June 2007 Saturday, the Legal Team lawyers were 6 hours at the phone with the KAVALA (Police), JVA's (Prisons) and the procurror emergengy service to find out about people still in jail. I was already sure in the afternoon that all Police Stations were empty. We were however suspecting some wrong informations ant it was still possible that some people were in some prisons as well for long custody. [more...] An Open Letter to the Press Rostock, G8 2007: There is Something Terribly Wrong Here Here in Germany, as major protests begin against the G8, the world press is not looking beyond the story of the battle - a partial story at best - and asking how or why it is happening Summit after summit, we have seen the same pattern in the media. The images of black clad protestors hurling rocks at police, the stories of senseless hooligans - those whom the government says should be punished and locked away. [more...] Plan B has started already: join to the battle of joy There are certain moments when it seems appropriate, without it ever being a matter of calculation, to address everybody in a manner as simple and direct as possible. One of these moments has arrived. We want to speak briefly about what happened on the 2nd of June in the city of Rostock during the demonstration against the G8. We speak, of course, from a partisan position, but one forged of multiple voices which at certain moments manage to become singular. One of these moments has arrived. [more...] |
