1. Dissent and the Scottish Situation:

The G8 (Group of Eight, most industrialised nations) Summits are hosted, on rotation, by the group's member states. In 2005 the Summit is to be held in the UK at Gleneagles in Perthshire, Scotland (less than an hour north-west of Edinburgh). The G8 mobilisation will be the largest anti-capitalist mobilisation this summer. There are three main groups mobilising: Dissent, G8 Alternatives, and Make Poverty History, and many smaller groups.
